Biographical Highlights

The Rev. Dr. Thomas J. Drobena is a frequent contributor and correspondent for the Synod Communications Desk.

Pastor Drobena served in several Slovak Zion Synod congregations over the years, including in Binghamton, NY, Mahanoy City, Nanticoke, and St. Clair, PA, and currently in Torrington, CT.

He became the English Editor for The Zion, our synod’s printed periodical, and in 1995 was appointed Chief Editor and Administrator. He was also made the Editor for the New England Historical Society in 1995, and in 1998 started Slovo, a peer-reviewed academic journal for theological publications. He also co-wrote Heritage of the Slavs along with now-Bishop Wilma S. Kucharek, with whom he is happily married. Alongside Bishop Kucharek, he also authored the English translation of Evangelical Churches in Slovakia, and they have co-written numerous other works and articles.
