Last week was different than any other weeks I have had so far. Me, my pastor and his family went to Milwaukee to see the ELCA Churchwide Assembly. The drive was really long, but we manage to get there on time for the first service. When we entered Wisconsin center, my first word was “wow”. I have never seen so many pastors, bishops and people who help the church in one place. The service started quiet differently- with pastors holding animals on big sticks and people carrying crosses and candles. During the service we were singing many hymns, we prayed, we listened to God’s word and we accepted the Holy Communion. It was interesting to see how people do things and how it all works differently in evey part of the world.

However, the assembly was not only about the services. The assembly contained discussions, meetings and more importantly election for the presiding bishop, secretery and the members of Church Council. On Tuesday, there were some kind of problems with previous day and so all the voting members had a chance to voice their voice and say their opinion. Most of the things were done electronically.

On the way back from the trip in Milwaukee, I was not feeling reslly well. It turned out that I had an ear infection, which was accompanied with fever. Even though the rest of the week was challenging, I feel much better now. I had a very nice experience with American hospital, and I was able to recover quickly. I thank God that He was leading our way in Milwaukee and I thank him that He was with me during my sickness
