Hello!

How are you? Hopefully fine. Because I’m great! This week wasn’t as adventurous as the previous ones, but I still got to do things I really enjoy. On Sunday, during the service, I got to help pastor Dave with the prayers for healing and I was teaching a Sunday school lesson. Then, after the church, we went with pastor Dave, Terry from the church and pastor Roger, another pastor from the city, on a bike ride. God blessed us with a very nice weather!

On Monday morning Jeff, Gabe and Corbin went back home. It was really nice meeting them! Then Bruce and Beth took me downtown to the Heinz Museum. Nope, it’s not about ketchup. Only half the floor out of six is the actual Heinz history and products, the rest of the museum holds artifacts mostly from the American history in general. The least enjoyable part of the museum was definitely the slavery section. I just can’t understand how human beings could have been doing that to other humans created in God’s image. Where did the “love your neighbor as yourself” go? However, I’m glad that they included it in the museum. We need to remember what was happening, because who doesn’t remember history is bound to repeat it. Hopefully we’ll never experience anything like that again! However, they had an international history part even with some stuff from Slovakia!

On Tuesday I started to get ready for my sermon, reading commentaries and so on. Pastor taught me a few songs on a guitar and we played them on the evening service. Then, on Wednesday morning, I went with pastor to the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, where he’s doing some additional higher education. We attended the Violence in the Old Testament class, which was very exciting. We’ll go there a few more times, I’m really looking forward to learning some more information on the topic!

The rest of the day (and week) was composed mostly of me getting ready for the sermon again and going through the program for the second service on Sunday, since I’ll be doing it. Today we did some shopping with Bruce and Beth and we’ll soon be leaving for one of their friend’s house to watch a football game and have a small party.

I really need to start getting ready, so see you next week! God bless you!
