Well, last week I could see how much is my host congregation hard working. I was on Council Meeting listening everything what’s happened and what’s going to be happened and I was surprised, how many things they are going to prepare for the 100th anniversary celebration. So come and you will see (and also you will taste :))
In addition, we had some another meeting in church. And I was amazed how people here are active and how they do all the things. They didn’t say that they have no time for doing that or that the anniversary will be soon and they will not manage it. Moreover, they propagate their church via newspaper. They called a man who made an interview and so people can get to know about this church. This church is for me a great testimony about what is possible when people are working together, when they help each other, when the love of God is in their centre, when they do all things like one body (whose head is Christ).
I was also on meeting in Episcopal Church. It was really nice. We were thinking about some readings from Bible and one of these readings we had also on Sunday service in our church.
Last week I was writing a sermon and also a sermon for children. My first sermon for children here. It was nice to see in church so many children. When I asked them, if I could speak that children sermon Slovak they said: “Yes”. But when I started with question “How are you?” in Slovak language: “Ako sa máš?” they didn’t understand me. So I spoke English. But some older member of church understood that question.
Last weak I have started to practice playing the flute. I’ve played with Nancy who plays the organ on Sunday service. She gave me some notebook of music. So we tried some songs together and I think, it could be great to play them together. But of course I should practice.
Anyway, I have tried many things like perch, salad with Muskegon black cherries, sundae and so on. And everything was really delicious. But you can also try something new, for example: pizza with corn, it’s yummy too. And also you can find it here 😉
