Hello!

So this is almost the end of my stay here. Almost. But time had been running so fast I fear that the week and a half I got left will just breeze through. However you’re here to read what I’ve been experiencing, so I won’t get sentimental yet. Maybe another time.

Last Sunday wasn’t totally usual, since I was preaching. Not only that, but I’ve been doing the second service with Cory, the deacon here at the church, since pastor Dave went to a friend’s wedding. Yes, wedding on Sunday, I was surprised, too.

Monday was almost a day off, as usual. However, in the evening we resumed a youth gathering! Since it was the first one after the summer, we talked about our summer experiences and so on, we were playing a game and pastor and I did a short bible study.

Rest of the week was more or less a lesson of a practical ministry at the church. For example, we were mowing a lawn, doing a bit of a clean-up and we picked up a few different kinds of coffee for an event you’re going to read about in a week. Also, we practiced the guitar for a bit and went through the program of the next Sunday service. We also did two services at the nursing homes, pastor had me preaching at both of them. At the first one it was a surprise even for me, but with God’s help, everything went smoothly.

Aside from my work at the church, I finally got an opportunity to do some cooking! I was teaching Beth how to cook my masterpiece goulash (if that’s the correct English spelling). Dried juniper berries and a boletus mushrooms were hard to come by, but Bruce got a wonderful idea to check if a local organic food co-op doesn’t have them. They did! We had all the ingredients, so everything went smoothly. It tasted just as when I make it at home. Beth said that she’ll make it for the next church cookout, but unfortunately I won’t be here by then.

Still, I have a few days left, so I’m looking forward for the experiences. Be ready to hear from me in a week!

God’s blessings,
