When I thought about my first week in US, I coudn´t find better description than silent staring. From the very first moment of our arrival, there was something to stare to. My pastor, and other people from my new congregation probably thought that I don´t understand them, or that I do not speak English very well, but I was just speechless. I  didn´t know what to say, because everything here was new, and interesting. Traffic, food, shops, people, nature, houses, livestyle.  What suprised my the most was my congregation- Lebanon Luteran Church.  Everyone  EVERYONE here is kind, friendly, hearty, They don´t go to tu church, they do the church. I couldn´t get warmer welcome (and better cake). I am here just ten days, but i know, that I will miss these peole, when I return home.

What I experienced this week?
  • Mexican food
  • Electric forest music festival – Some people told me, that that´s how America looks like all the time. All I can say is, that is was the biggest, and the strangest music festival, which I´ve ever seen. If you want to know more about this festival, just google it, because I      still don´t know what to say.
  • Art festival
  • 4th July Parade
  • American hot dog and hamburger
  • Kayaking
  • Smorgasbord – Lebanon Chuch has roots in Sweeden, and this is a reason, why we celebrated Smorgasbord. I´ve never thought, that I will learn how to prepare Sweedish food in United States. It was amazing time, with amazing people.
My best form this week.

Lake Michigan. When I recieved an email, telling me, that I will spend my summer near lake Michigan I was super excited. Great Lakes are part of the world, which I really wanted to see. Being here, near lake Michigan is amazing, and I will be thankful for this oportunity to the rest of my life. This lake is indescribable. Walking barefoot on the sand, waves touching your feet.

Next week plans: moving to my second family, Pow wow (Native Americans festival).
