Lake Michigan

Writing a sermon takes time.  It’s like a brewing of beer.

After a day spent thinking about “what I’m going to say Sunday” I realized  that my mentor is right. A sermon is really like a beer. Thoughts need to settle down. There is no need to hurry, of course, if we have time and tomorrow is not Sunday. A trip to the capital of Michigan helped me clear my mind and set the theme of my sermon. It’s true that during our driving there we were talking more about American intelligence agencies and their purposes than about free will, the topic of my sermon; but I was also thinking about the sermon, and that’s what counts.
