This week was really calm. And I’m absolutely thankful for calm time, and for time spent with my host family. I got really sick on Friday, and I was lying in my bet whole day, and also whole Satuday. I still don’t know what happend. My host “mum” was trying to do her best to help me. It is big blessing when you can see how people take care of you, and how they care about me. I’m really sad, that  I’m moving today, because i fell in love with this host family. Of course each family was great (and will be great), but here I really felt like being home. One things that i’ve realized, when I was thinking about host families is how couregeus they must be, when the sign up for hosting someone, whi they have never seen before.

What I experienced this week?
  • meeting with Lutherans from Honduras (they spoke only Spanish, so my comunication with them was very limited, but meeting them, and seeing their work in Honduras was very precious and it gave me several ideas about our ministry in Slovakia among Roma people)
  • playing minigolf (I really suck in it)
  • Chinesee food
  • eating at the beach
  • building a weelchair ramp for a mamber of our congregation
  • shopping at Mall (so many shoes stores)
  • preparing and participating at backpack event
  • making T shirts with spray paints
The best from this week

Backpack event. This event is organized by my congregation, but several other organizations and congregations participated. Main idea is to provide school supplies for poor children from Whitehall and Whitelake area. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was really suprised.  We prepared 300 bacpacks with supplies, and less than 100 were left.  Usually there is no backpack left, but it was raining, so many paople didn’t show up. Despite raining, it was amaying time. i was helping with making T shirts for kids, but I had few minutes for walking by and watching kids. They were absolutely happy and thankfull- and also parents. I think that this was great ministry and great opportunity to show people, what is church and what is church doing.
