I kicked the week off by attending a very interesting workshop focused on dealing with people in depression, considering suicide, etc. I’m more than sure I’ll need this knowledge in my future life. In fact, many of the people attending were either pastors, or church assistants.
On Wednesday, I had a glimpse of the Ohio Amish country. I watched cheese being made, and went around a traditional amish farm. The following day, I went to the National Cemetery, which was also fascinating. Every day, a different guard of honor takes place to say the last farewells to the deceased veterans.
I also attended an AA meeting. I was surprised to hear some of the stories, but I really liked the friendly atmosphere. I saw the endeavor to help and support as much as everyone could.
On Saturday, I finally watched a live baseball game, and looked at the city from above, as we went to the observation deck on the terminal tower. I’m very happy that I’m not only helping people around me, bud have an opportunity to see the surroundings and have some fun.
My bid day came on Sunday, as I was leading the service. Despite me being a bit nervous at the beginning, everything went well, and I hope the message is going to grow in the members’ hearts.
I also had special visitors today, as my former teachers came to see me after several years. It was a very pleasant meeting, as I changed roles, and become the one showing the others around this beautiful city. I’m still here, but believe me, I’m starting to miss it already.
