Well, those who read my blog know that I didn’t publish some things. So l let’s fill the gap and tell everything what has happened in that time. Let’s go step by step, just the way I wrote that into my notebook.

So. Hello everybody. Now it started. Busy week. From Monday to Friday I was in day camp in Lebanon Lutheran Church in Whitehall (Emil – another intern is there). Every that day Marcia – the woman who I stayed with – drove me to Whitehall and every afternoon she took me back. And every day I had some new experiences.

What I really like about that camp there? I like that camp because there was fun, the group leaders made a great job and stayed with children, played with them games and were there for children. Also another leaders were organized, everything looked well prepared and children were active and happy and I think that they were very obedient too. I like that children could sing some short songs which were very easy to remember and when some song was more difficult it became easy by singing again and again. To do the repeats and to show with hands and whole body every sentence from song is an idea which is used also in Slovakia, but maybe I forgot that it could be so much funny. I think that we look more serious or I use to be more serious and not so funny. I was amazed about how everything was used, every place in church area and so on. And I like also that the Bible study was in the church, in front of the altar, on carpet where were sitting children. And I like also that they didn’t have to only listen the stories but also that they participated in the stories or did something. And I like that every Bible study was taught in different way.

I know that to organize that type of camp is really hard and I wander upon everything that was different from our camps. For example: Usually when we have a daily camp in my church in Slovakia we have lunch which isn’t prepared at home by parents and so usually pastors have to think about how we can give (or prepare) lunch for children. So it was something new for me, to see that there is also another way how we can do things maybe easier for us and better for children – because they could eat what they will bring and what they like.

And I like luge. I was so scary about to try it, but I really wanted to. Pastor said that it’s save and that Emil has done it too. Also small children love it. I’ve missed few turns but then, after a few minutes I tried it. And it was amazing. I was so happy like a small kid.

I have never had an idea about going to swim to someone’s house. I find it like a great idea and also great help that the people shared their swimming pool with campers. For me it’ s a great testimony, that no matter what you have (or what gift or talent you got) but how you use it.

The weather was good and so we finished the camp with water games. Although the water was cold, we had a lot’s of fun. Everybody was wet. And those people which were not so much wet, they became wet. I like that camp and I have also nice memories of that and a beautiful T-shirt.
And I really like what pastor said to leaders, that children start to do bad things when they are bored. And so leaders had to interest them with games, activities, help, or something. They were there really for children. And it was amazing to see that camp.

Next writing will be about our anniversary 🙂
