Over the last several weeks, some of you may have noticed changes to Carnival’s itineraries for the 2014 winter season. As you can imagine, sailing from New York in the early winter months can create undesirable conditions for cruises, such as cold fronts, high winds, and rough water. It is for this reason that Carnival has chosen to cancel all sailings out of New York after the conclusion of their Fall 2014 season, and reposition their ships to the south.
Our Assembly Planning Team has been working hard in close cooperation with Carnival to assess this situation. We’ve been working around the clock each day to ascertain the total effect on our planned November 17-25 sailing. We have determined that we will not be sailing out of New York as planned.
However, thanks to our close partnership with Carnival, and the diligence of our Assembly Planning Team, we are proud to announce the 2014 Assembly will be convened aboard the Carnival Dream, sailing out of New Orleans, November 16-23, 2014. Round-trip airfare to/from New Orleans is included in the registration rate, which will remain the same as it was prior to these changes in our itinerary.
Travel arrangements must therefore be made in collaboration with the registration committee. Airline arrangements will be made by the registration committee, and other travel arrangements must be pre-approved for reimbursement prior to the listed deadline of August 1, when registration closes. If arrangements are not made directly with the Registration Committee, travel to/from New Orleans will be covered at your own expense.
The value of this year’s assembly is unparalleled, and could only have been achieved thanks to our close partnership with Carnival Cruise Lines, and the dedication of our Assembly Planning Team. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please feel free to contact the Registration Committee. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see many of you this November.
