We’re 18 days away from setting sail on the 2019 Synod Assembly, and officially kicking off the 100th Anniversary Celebration for our great Synod. We hope you’re getting excited!
By this time, all of you should have received your Carnival booking number, or (if you expedited your check-in when registering with us) your Carnival boarding passes and luggage tags. Also, if you had your travel to/from the Fort Lauderdale area booked by an associate of the Synod Travel Desk, you should have received your airline confirmation number(s). If you have not received any of these things, please notify us immediately so that we may assist you.
If you received your Carnival booking number, but have not logged in to Carnival.com with it to check-in for the sailing, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible, so that you may print your boarding passes and luggage tags without further delay.
All participants are kindly asked to visit the Registration Desk on board the ship following dinner the first evening after boarding (August 25). The Registration Desk will be located in the Vibe Night Club on Deck 5 (Aft), and will be open from 7:30-9:30pm.
If you’re a voting member of this year’s Assembly, we will once again be using a smartphone and tablet app for all Assembly reports and business. Those of you who requested that tablets be loaned to you can expect to pick yours up from the Registration Committee when the Registration Desk opens after dinner on the first night of the sailing. The app will be available for download to your smartphones as well as your tablet, and the download links for the app will be emailed to you the week prior to sailing. As always, only voting members will be able to log into the app.
Wi-Fi will be required in order to use the Assembly app, so you’ll have to have a Wi-Fi package (Value or Premium) purchased. We’ve managed to secure a special deal for the cost of the Wi-Fi packages, but in order to pass this special deal on to you, we ask that you please do not purchase your Wi-Fi package in advance from Carnival.com. While we are aware that Carnival offers a discount for prepaying the Wi-Fi package, the deal we have will not be available to you if you prepay a WiFi package online. Please know that you will be able to purchase your Wi-Fi plan after you board the ship, but also remember that you should only do so after boarding the ship.
As always, our Synod event staff will be closely monitoring the weather for Fort Lauderdale, as well as for all points of departure for assembly participants on your respective travel days. If we anticipate any delay or hindrance to your travel arrangements, we’ll be in touch with you via the contact method you specified when you registered.
