Synod Assembly 2022

emailheader assembly

Greetings, reader!

This is an email going out to all voting members and esteemed guests of the 2022 Synod Assembly!

We’re very excited to have you aboard with us in just 42 days. As we’re approaching the sail date, we’d like to share some important updates with you regarding your reservation numbers, visitation to Bermuda, and more.

Your Norwegian reservation number is now available and can be viewed when you log into our registration site at the link below:
When you log in, you'll be able to view your reservation number under the My Account page (which it should already take you to, automatically). You'll see your number directly underneath where the page welcomes you by your first name. You can see an example of this below:

Your reservation number with Norwegian is the same thing as your booking number if you’ve sailed with Carnival. You will use this with your Norwegian account (which you can create online on their website, ncl.com) to complete your check-in prior to sailing and print your boarding passes, luggage tags, make dining reservations, etc.

We understand that some of you have already reached out to the Synod Offices in some way to request this reservation number. While we expected to receive these reservation numbers from Norwegian Cruise Lines approximately one month ago, NCL only finalized our bookings and transmitted these reservation numbers to us late last night. So without delay, we’re relaying your reservation numbers to you, nearly as quickly as we’ve received them.

It’s important to us to protect the special rates and promotional inclusions that we’ve negotiated in advance and on behalf of the assembly membership. While many of these promotions are only available to us as a group-reservation (where all our staterooms are booked together, as opposed to everyone each booking their own), such reservations are only handled by a specific group department at NCL. The repeated delays in the completion of our reservations are a direct result of that department’s inability to handle the recent (and significant) increases in the volume of their bookings. Essentially, they’ve been overwhelmed and understaffed, and so many groups have been in a backlog to be finalized, including ours.

Nevertheless, we are excited that we’ve been able to include a number of amenities to your reservation, such as the beverage package, specialty dining package, a $50 shore excursion discount, and a $100 cabin credit. In addition, our group will receive unlimited WiFi, so there will be no need for anyone to pay extra to upgrade.

Additionally, regarding Bermuda, the good news is that they’ve joined the cruise line in dropping the Covid testing requirement for entry into Bermuda. However, all visitors must complete a travel authorization with the government of Bermuda between November 13 and November 29, 2022. This can be done at their government website below:
Keep in mind that assembly members and guests who are fully vaccinated against SARS-COVID-19 only need to submit the travel authorization form, upload proof of vaccination (certificate/card), and the accompanying $40 fee. If you are not fully vaccinated, you must attach proof of your health insurer’s statement of coverage of Covid-19 related illnesses or proof of travel health insurance as outlined on the Bermuda government website.

Voting members, keep your eyes open for a subsequent email in the coming weeks which will detail what you can expect at this year’s business meetings, including where to meet and how to access assembly materials.

If you have any questions, please kindly reply back to this email and let us know! We’re always here to help.

Blessings upon your ministries. We’re looking forward to our time together!

Cheers,
Joshua Drobena & Sheila Welch
