Our Assembly Planning Committee is pleased to announce the upcoming Assembly of the Slovak Zion Synod\u2014ELCA. We will depart from Long Beach (Los Angeles) at 3:30pm on Monday, August 24, 2024, aboard the Carnival Firenze. The vessel will arrive at Catalina Island (US) at 8am on Tuesday, August 25, and depart Catalina at 5:30pm headed for Ensenada (Mexico), arriving there at 8am on Wednesday, August 26. After a day in Ensenada, the Firenze will depart at 5pm and return to Long Beach at 8am on Friday, August 28. Following several years since gathering for our last Assembly, we hope you will join us! And, of course, bring your family and friends!<\/p>\n
This choice in assembly site has been made for its favorable costs when compared to land-based venues, as well as for the supportive recommendations and feedback from our past participants. We believe you will be pleased with the itinerary and amenities included in the assembly cost. An assembly cruise also keeps in accordance with a previous Synod Assembly\u2019s unanimous resolution encouraging future assemblies at sea.<\/p>\n
Our upcoming assembly allows ample time for enrichment, business, and personal time. On the two days we will be in our scheduled ports of call, and on evenings during the cruise there will be free time to use at your own discretion. On our planned sea day (August 27) when meetings are in session, the evening will be allocated for downtime, fellowship, and personal enrichment. Personal time also allows voting members to spend time with family and friends wishing to accompany them on this trip.<\/p>\n
Registration will open April 1 and be open until May 30, 2026, at which time the cruise line requires all personal information to be submitted, and all balances paid in full. This window enables us to get the great rates and amenities that we can pass on to you. Also, following our agreement with the cruise line, all voting members and visitors seeking to attend this Synod sailing are required to book their reservations through the Synod.<\/p>\n
Please register as soon as possible to get the cheapest rates, since the various cabin categories are limited, and cruise rate increases and surcharges will apply after April 30, 2026.<\/p>\n
If you registered for the 2018, 2019 or 2022 Assemblies, you can reuse your existing user account and most of your registration should be auto-filled for you. If you\u2019re travelling with us for the first time (or the first time in a long time), you\u2019ll be able to create a new account when you register this year.
