TORRINGTON, CONN (SZS)The Ninth Triennial Convention of the Women of the ELCA will be held July 22-24, 2014, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Over 400 delegates from across the church will deal with a range of issues while conducting the business of the organization. Officers and a churchwide executive board for the 2014-2017 triennium will be elected and a budget for FY2015 will be considered.

Following the Convention, on July 24-27 at the Charlotte Convention Center, will be the Ninth Triennial Gathering, a time for all women to gather, celebrate together, and be enriched. Titled: “Of Many Generations,” it will feature speakers and workshop leaders who are sure to enrich and spark conversations leading to further engagement of Lutheran women in mission. Participants will be able to connect, shop, meet authors and speakers, gather resources, engage in exciting adventures in Charlotte on optional tours, and more. There’s much enrichment that participants can get out of this event, as well as many opportunities to give, too. You can share with others in North Carolina and around the world through in-kind gifts and service projects. You can support scholarships for women everywhere through offerings collected at worship. Your offerings will also support Katie’s Fund and strengthen its support of leadership development, global connections and living theology.

Registration for the Ninth Triennial Gathering is now open with early discounted rates available, and can be completed online at http://www.welcatg.org. The discounted fee is available for those who register now. After January 6, the fee rises from $325 to $350 per person. The registration fee includes all gathering activities scheduled for July 24-27, with the exception of additional tours and add-ons, continuing ed fees, registration processing, parking, and travel arrangements. Hotel costs, though not included in the registration fee, can be arranged through the registration site.
