\"\"<\/a> We kicked off our vacation Bible school on Monday. This has been a second year in almost three decades, when there hadn\u2019t been any, so we were thrilled to see as many as 15 kids running around our backyard. I was responsible for mission, which meant I had a short activity to explain the main theme of the night. We covered the feeding of the five thousand, and also a man lowered to Jesus through the roof by his friends. Our final night was on Wednesday, and we invited all the parents, families, and also everyone from the Redeemer church. I am very happy to say, we had as many a\"\"<\/a>s 80 people attending! It was just glorious, seeing everyone enjoying their hotdogs and burgers, having fun watching the magician (by the way that was my favorite part of the evening, too), and playing games all around. I really felt the joy seeing God working there.
\nOn Thursday, I went to the WELCA\u2019s picnic, and had a bunch of fun there, too. We played corn hole, shared stories, talked about the article about our church in the newspaper.. It was a very pleasant evening.
\nOn Saturday, I spend the whole day in Columbus, seeing the Ohio state fair. I had a chance to see multiple stands, selling various kind of foods, took a sky glider (chairlift) above the area to see all the people and buildings, and I even saw a model train exhibition. It was very nice to see everything this state has to offer (although I\u2019m positive I still haven\u2019t seen it all). I liked the parade very much, too, as it was the first one I\u2019ve ever seen in my life. I found it truly amusing. I went there with the Vlk family, who will be my host family for the next month. It was very nice to get to know them before moving there.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I wrapped up my week with preaching about greed and God\u2019s love. The main message I wanted the congregation to hear was that rushing after things this world has to offer is nothing but futility. The thing that is worth following is solely Jesus, and his new commandment – to love each other as he had loved us. That\u2019s the only way to build the houses of our lives on the rock instead of sand.
\nAfter the service, I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drive a Porsche, so I didn\u2019t hesitate to take it. My hair got a bit messy after stopping the convertible, a true sign of enjoyment.
\nAfter that I had a quick lunch with the church\u2019s youth members, again a great chance to meet them and share a bit. I\u2019m looking forward to all the activities ahead of us, it\u2019s all going to be great fun!
\nAfter another week, I have to express my happiness over all things God is making possible here. It\u2019s not only a great joy watching it, but it feels even better to be a part of His mission!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
