I\u00b4ve been there with a group called \u201eBridge Builders\u201c (high schoolers &#8211; around 14-18) for the whole week. We slept in sleeping bags, we were using repellents everywhere, we ate (sometimes really unhealthy) American food and had a\u00a0great time with each other.<\/p>\n<p>The main topic of the camp was racism. We\u00a0were talking a\u00a0lot about this theme, what it is and how to fight against racism. This topic was based on biblical story about the Good Samaritan. The kids were really talkative which was great for the leaders. This topic is currently relevant in their world, because recently in America there is difficult conflict between African Americans and police officers.<\/p>\n<p>Almost every morning we had \u201eMorning Worship\u201c with reading a\u00a0Bible and singing songs. During the day we played games and twice a\u00a0day we had \u201ecurriculum time\u201c. We were divided into few groups and that was time for working in a\u00a0group, talking about racism and sharing with each other about our experiences with racism.<\/p>\n<p>Every night we had \u201eCampfire\u201c which means singing Christians songs near the fire. The \u201eCampfire\u201c during the last night was at Benona Beach, which is pretty close to Stony Lake Camp.
