Time capsule burial ceremony<\/p><\/div>\n

W<\/span>here did I finish? Yes, I know. So after the camp in Whitehall.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of th<\/span>at<\/span> amazing week <\/span>in the camp<\/span> we had a celebration of 100<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup> anniversary <\/span>in<\/span> Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church in Muskegon. <\/span>It start<\/span>ed<\/span> a few hours after <\/span>the<\/span> water games in camp in Whitehall <\/span>finished<\/span>, so I <\/span>had prepared everything for me in the car which took me from Whitehall.<\/span><\/p>\n

The theme of whole celebration was <\/span>Hope, <\/span>Belief, Faith<\/span> \u2013 Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. <\/span>Every day there was a homily (or sermon) on the part of this theme. <\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday we had an ice-cream social. It was so nice that after a vesper we didn’t go home but stay<\/span>ed<\/span> there with another people having fun and building our relationships. <\/span>There was also music, a lots of music like <\/span>songs form<\/span> Barbershop quartet and Polka music <\/span>and some another songs.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Saturday <\/span>at noon<\/span> there was a time capsule burial <\/span>ceremony<\/span>. <\/span>They bought a beautiful sundial which <\/span>they put<\/span> over <\/span>the<\/span> time capsule. Did I mentioned that <\/span>in the time capsule is<\/span> also something from me? There is my first public sermon <\/span>that was here. <\/span>And on that day the church was presenting their cookbook \u201cGood Eats Make Us Happy.\u201d Although it isn’t Slovak cookbook you can find there many of Slovak recipes which are made in their way. And on that day we could also taste them. And there were so good. I’ve tasted many of them. <\/span>And our bishop the<\/span> <\/b>Rev. Wilma S. Kucharek <\/span>tasted some of them also.<\/span> She was there too. And on Sunday she preached and gave to the congregation small remembrance for that special anniversary.<\/span><\/p>\n

The congregation made a really good job. They were so hard working, they made everything. Everything was well prepared. I could see how they were organized and how they made things together. For just a minute I was watching process, how they were making the cookbook. And I was amazed. The book is colourful with pictures from the lives of members of this congregation. This was a great testimony that all people worked together on God’s work.<\/p>\n

The celebration of anniversary was finished with Sunday service after which was prepared lunch for everybody. And Emil came also.<\/p>\n

And how did I join to the celebration? I was reading some lessons, helped with time capsule burial ceremony, and I also played the flute with Nancy \u2013 the organist.<\/p>\n

I<\/span>t was so amazing to be <\/span>here<\/span> in that time and saw everything. <\/span>They showed me, that everything (almost) is possible to do when people are working together.<\/span> So <\/span>I am looking forward to some another anniversaries in Slovakia, where we may do similarly.<\/span><\/p>\n
